GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The 2K Showcase team announced today that the 2026 2K Showcase will take place at the Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) Ford Fieldhouse, marking the first time the event will be held in the historic venue. The Showcase is scheduled for January 31, and February 7, 2026.
Widely regarded as one of Michigan’s most exciting high school basketball events, the 2K Showcase brings together top programs and players for a day of high-level competition. The Ford Fieldhouse, which recently completed a $15 million renovation in August 2025, will provide a premier stage for both players and fans, with seating for approximately 2,800 and on-site parking available.
A Return to Tradition
The Ford Fieldhouse has long been a centerpiece of Michigan basketball. In 1983, it hosted the city’s first-ever Holiday Tournament, founded by Mel Akins Sr. and Grand Rapids Public Schools, which featured elite programs and rising stars from across the state. Among those who played in the event were future legends Chris Webber and Jalen Rose, setting a standard for the type of talent that would define the venue for decades.
Event Director Statement
“We’ve been in conversation with GRCC since 2019 to bring the Showcase to the Fieldhouse, and to see this partnership finalized is a full-circle moment,” said Event Director Brandoen Guyton. “We want to extend a special thank you to Whitney Marsh, Lauren Ferullo, Coach David Glazier, and Coach Joe Fox for their continued support in making this possible. The GRCC Fieldhouse is not only a newly renovated, state-of-the-art venue, but it’s also a historic site that has hosted some of Michigan’s greatest basketball moments. Partnering again with the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame and bringing the high school excitement back home to the Fieldhouse is something we’re proud of and truly excited about.”
Looking Ahead
The 2K Showcase continues to stand out as one of the highlights of Michigan’s basketball calendar, providing a stage for athletes to compete and for fans to celebrate the game. With its move to the Ford Fieldhouse, the event strengthens its connection to Grand Rapids’ basketball heritage while setting the stage for a new era of competition.
